A word from the Executive Director

HIV & AIDS is now the greatest threat to the socio-economic and medical gains made in Kenya. With the current prevalence rates given by the ministry of health still as 7.1%. The need to keep up pressure on the war is clearly real. On the other hand, the ministry of health reports that about 300 Kenyans are dying of AIDS every day. This clearly demonstrates the fact that care and support are still low keyed in many Kenyan communities, giving rise to rapid progression of the infected to AIDS stage and death.

Throughout our existence, we have tried to perfect the art of caring for our fellow women and our children so affected by the HIV & AIDS pandemic, through resource centre-based as well as home based counseling and support, hospital visits and group empowerment sessions. But is that what really matters? As a support group for women living with HIV& AIDS, we recognize the medical challenges the infection poses onto our clients. To this extent, we have established a comprehensive medical care program that takes care of opportunistic infections, and also follow_up our clients who are on antiretroviral drugs. This has seen many of our clients have a restoration of health and life. It would not have been easy if it were not for our committed development partners.

Throughout our program activities implementation, many organizations in and outside Kenya have continued to pour resources into the work we do. We have managed to develop and sustain excellent relationships with you and thank you very much and we hope to continue in the same spirit. We are sure that with additional support, many more of our clients will improve thier quality of life.
